titleOfInvention Display with adaptive spectral features
abstract An electronic device may include a display having an array of display pixels and having display control circuitry for controlling operation of the display. The display control circuit may adaptively adjust a spectral characteristic of display light emitted from the display to achieve a desired effect on a human circadian system. For example, the display control circuit may adjust the spectral characteristics of blue light emitted from the display based on time of day information such that user exposure to the display light may produce a circadian response similar to that experienced under natural light. The spectral characteristics of the blue light emitted from the display may be adjusted by adjusting the relative highest power level provided to the blue pixels in the display or by shifting the peak wavelength associated with the blue light emitted from the display.
