abstract | The present invention provides a waveguide capable of suppressing light in a wavelength conversion member, and a light source device having high brightness and high luminous efficiency. The light source device includes a semiconductor light-emitting element, and a wavelength conversion member that converts a wavelength of a part of light emitted from the semiconductor light-emitting element. The wavelength conversion member includes a substrate, a phosphor layer disposed on the substrate, and a light reflection layer disposed on the substrate and disposed around the phosphor layer. The said light reflection layer contains inorganic compound particle, and the 2nd matrix material which embeds the said inorganic compound particle. The refractive index of the inorganic compound particles is higher than the refractive index of the first host material, the refractive index of the first host material is higher than the refractive index of the phosphor particles, and the refractive index of the phosphor particles is higher than that of the second host material.
