titleOfInvention | Active transport of charged molecules into, in and/or from a charged matrix |
abstract | Articles and methods for actively transporting molecules into, in, and/or from a matrix are generally described. In some embodiments, an electric field may be used to change the position of the molecule relative to the matrix. The electric field may be used to move the molecules to new locations in the matrix, to remove the molecules from the matrix, or to inject the molecules into the matrix. For example, the electric field may be used to move molecules having binding partners in the matrix into or out of proximity with the binding partners. In some embodiments, the position of the molecule can be altered by exposing the molecule to an electrokinetic field. |
