titleOfInvention Well Treatment Methods and Fluids
abstract A method comprising forming a well treatment fluid by combining an aqueous fluid, a tackifier, a crosslinking agent, an aldehyde-containing rheology modifier. The tackifier is cross-linked, thereby increasing the viscosity of the fluid. The method includes treating the well with a fluid exhibiting an increased viscosity, chemically altering the aldehyde after crosslinking and thereby forming an acid, and reducing the viscosity of the crosslinked fluid as a result of forming the acid. The aldehyde may be glyoxal, which forms oxalic acid, thereby breaking the crosslinks. The well treatment fluid is formulated with ingredients including an aqueous fluid and a tackifier and a crosslinking agent configured to crosslink the tackifier. The fluid includes an aldehyde-containing rheology modifier. The fluid may lack an aldehyde crosslink retarding additive.
