The present invention relates to polyalkylsiloxane mixtures obtained by hydrosilylation reactions, wherein a mixture of monounsaturated olefins is reacted with an amount of one or more polyalkylhydrosiloxanes in the presence of a hydrosilylation catalyst. Further, the present invention relates to polyalkylsiloxanes comprising alkyl side chains consisting of linear or branched alkyl groups containing 40 to 60 carbon atoms, 16 to 30 carbon atoms, and 6 to 15 carbon atoms. Furthermore, the present invention relates to a water-based composition suitable for use in a mold release agent for metal casting processes comprising a mixture of polyalkylsiloxanes, a non-ionic surfactant having an HLB value of at least 8, and less than 20 wt% wax. Furthermore, the present invention relates to the use of said polyalkylsiloxanes and mixtures of polyalkylsiloxanes. |
