abstract |
An object of the present invention is to provide a viscosity modifier for lubricating oil for obtaining an additive composition for lubricating oil excellent in fluidity in a wide temperature range from low temperature to high temperature, and the additive composition for lubricating oil. Another object of the present invention is to provide a viscosity modifier for lubricating oil and the lubricating oil composition for obtaining a lubricating oil composition capable of well-balanced viscosity reduction in a wide temperature range from low temperature to high temperature. The viscosity modifier for lubricating oil of the present invention contains ethylene·α-olefin copolymer (A), and the ethylene·α-olefin copolymer (A) contains 30 to 50 mol% of At least one structural unit of α-olefin in the α-olefin, and 50 to 70 mole % of structural units derived from ethylene, wherein the total of all structural units is taken as 100 mole %; and, the ethylene·α - The olefin copolymer (A) satisfies the specific requirements (a), (b) and (c). |
