titleOfInvention | Gene for controlling rice plant height, improving lodging resistance and increasing effective tiller number and yield and application thereof |
abstract | The invention discloses an SDT gene for reducing the plant height of rice, improving the lodging resistance and increasing the tillering number and yield of rice and application thereof. The SDT gene encodes OsmiR156 h. In the semi-dwarf multi-tillering SDT rice mutant, the 3 '-UTR length of the mRNA transcribed from SDT gene was shorter than the 3' -UTR transcribed from the wild-type SDT gene, resulting in a higher expression level of SDT gene transcription than the wild-type SDT gene. Genetic analysis shows that sdt is a semi-dominant mutation, which can inhibit the longitudinal division of stalk cells to control the length and the plant height of each internode, thereby improving the lodging resistance of rice; meanwhile, the method can increase the effective tiller number of the rice, thereby improving the grain number per plant and the yield of the rice. The invention proves that the expression level of the gene can be changed by regulating and controlling the 3' -UTR length of the mRNA transcribed by the OsmiR156h gene for the first time, and further the application prospect of cultivating the rice with excellent properties is realized. |
