titleOfInvention Process for producing ceramic matrix compound and ceramic matrix compound formed through process
abstract Provided is a process for producing ceramic matrix compound (CMC) articles (10). The process comprises the step of reducing pores and gaps in the articles. The process is performed in a porous lighted fabricated part which comprises a fiber reinforced material (14) and a ceramic matrix material (18), a filling material is molten by heating the fabricated part and the filling material, by creating a vacuum, the molten filling material permeates the gaps of the fabricated part, and the gaps in the fabricated part are partially filled with the molten filling material, and the fabricated part is compact. When the filling material is kept in a molten state in the gaps, the fabricated part and the filling material are subjected to increased pressure, and the gaps are further filled with the molten filling material. Afterwards, when the fabricated part and the molten filling material in the fabricated part are subjected to the increased pressure, the fabricated part and the filling material are cooled to enable the filling material to be cured in the gaps, and the CMC articles are produced.
