| abstract |
A method and system capable of processing slide-borne specimens within an automated tissue staining system. The slide carrier is moved towards and into the temperature-controlled interior environment of the stainer within the system. The slide carrier carries a first slide and a second slide, and the first slide and the second slide are capable of carrying a first specimen and a second specimen, respectively. staining the first slide with at least one of a staining reagent and a contrast staining reagent when the first slide and the second slide are within the interior environment and when the interior environment has an average temperature greater than ambient temperature a specimen and the second specimen. After staining one or both specimens, the slide carrier can be moved out of the internal environment. |
