abstract A connector for a medical device includes a first connector having a first end and a second end, the first connector defining at least one channel proximate the first end. The at least one channel has an axially extending first portion and a shoulder proximate the first end of the first connector, the shoulder defining a channel entrance. The at least one channel has a second portion extending in a direction transverse to the axial direction. The connector also includes a second connector having a first end and a second end, and at least one protrusion proximate the first end. The shoulder serves to guide the at least one projection of the second connector into the channel inlet regardless of the positioning of the at least one projection relative to the channel inlet.
