Systems, devices and methods are described for assessing risk for developmental, cognitive, social or mental abilities or disabilities in very young patients (eg, within the first 2-6 months of life). Typically, a decline in a subject's visual fixation on a certain dynamic stimulus over time provides a marker of a possible ability or disability (eg, ASD) in the subject. A subject's visual fixation is identified, monitored, and tracked over time through repeated eye-tracking sessions, and data related to visual fixation is then analyzed to determine possible increases in such disorders in the subject. risk. A change in visual fixation compared to similar visual fixation data of a generally developing subject or to the subject's own previous visual fixation data provides an indication of developmental, cognitive or mental ability or disability. |
