abstract The invention discloses a low-cost flame-retardant PVC cable material and a preparation method thereof. The low-cost flame-retardant PVC cable material is prepared from, by weight, 90-110 parts of PVC resin, 35-45 parts of triisooctyl phosphate, 2-5 parts of epoxidized soybean oil, 2-5 parts of chlorinated paraffin, 10-15 parts of flexibilizer, 2-5 parts of lead oxide phosphite hydrate, 0.5-1 part of PE paraffin, 55-65 parts of light calcium carbonate, 3-8 parts of stabilizer, 3-8 parts of argil, 2-5 parts of antimony oxide, 0.1-0.5 part of antioxygen and 0.5-1 part of stearic acid. The cable material is prepared through the steps that PVC resin, the stabilizer, a plasticizer, the flexibilizer, filler and a flame retardant are mixed, kneaded at a high speed, extruded through a single screw, chopped, cooled, screened and magnetically separated, metered and packaged. Good high-temperature resistance, flame retardance and protection properties are achieved, the flexibilizer can modify PVC, the quality of the cable material is improved, and the production cost of the cable material is reduced.
