The present invention provides sustained release intraocular drug delivery devices comprising: (a) a polymer matrix core having at least one therapeutic agent mixed therein, and (b) a polymer coating completely surrounding the polymer matrix material; wherein the polymer matrix core and polymer coating are insoluble and inert in ocular fluids, and wherein the sustained release intraocular drug delivery device has the shape of a compliant ring segment and the device is to be inserted into an intact eye and/or or in the sulcus of an artificial phakic eye. |
