abstract There is provided a storage type display device including: a pixel electrode, a common electrode, a selection switch which is connected to a data line and a scanning line, a memory circuit, a branched power supply line which supplies power to the pixel electrode, a stem power supply line which supplies power to the branched power supply line, a transfer gate which switches the connection state between the branched power supply line and the pixel electrode, a switch which is connected between the stem power supply line and the branched power supply line and is configured to select the connection state between the stem power supply line and the branched power supply line, and a control circuit which disconnects or connects the stem power supply line from or to the branched power supply line according whether or not the memory circuit is rewritten.
