abstract The invention discloses a method for detecting the trace amount of nitrogen in gray pig iron.The method includes the steps that a gray pig iron sample is subjected to quenching heat treatment, wherein the gray pig iron sample is heated to be at 750 DEG C, subjected to heat preservation for 3 hours, then taken out and cooled with water, the surface structure of the sample is changed to be in the half-white state, and then the sample is cut, polished and smoothened; spectral analysis is carried out immediately through a spark-source atomic emission spectrometer, wherein the parameters of the instrument include the nitrogen analysis wavelength of 149.270 nm, the argon washing time of 2 s, the pre-burning time of 10 s and the integral time of 13 s; detection is carried out to obtain the content of the trace amount of nitrogen.The detecting method is a method for rapidly and accurately measuring the trace amount of nitrogen elements in gray pig iron.
