titleOfInvention | Process for microbial fermentation of sugar-containing substrates and use of hydrogen in atomic, ionic or gaseous state in such process |
abstract | the present invention relates to a biochemical process for selectively increasing alcohol production by fermentation of a sugar-containing substrate, in which hydrogen is fed to a microorganism, the fermentation process comprising a sugar-containing wort, a microbial food of fungi or bacteria. Hydrogen is produced by applying a pre-or fully-electrolytic voltage to the fermentation medium in a direct or alternating current. Microorganisms using atomic, ionic, or gaseous hydrogen input to the fermentation medium for the selective production of alcohols are also described. |
