abstract The present invention discloses a pet food for tortoise and a preparation method thereof, and technical essentials of the pet food are that the pet food comprises the following components in parts by weight: 43-57 parts of fish, 20-34 parts of river shrimps, 5-11 parts of hawthorn fruits, 2-4 parts of rhizoma atractylodis, 1-5 parts of cortex fraxini, 1-3 parts of cyrtomium rhizome, 3-7 parts of fructus hordei germinatus, 1-4 parts of isatis roots, 2-4 parts of dried tangerine peels, 1-4 parts of radix pulsatillae and 1-3 parts of liquorice; the preparation method includes the following steps: firstly, decocting all the hawthorn fruits, rhizoma atractylodis, cortex fraxini, cyrtomium rhizome, fructus hordei germinatus, isatis roots, dried tangerine peels, radix pulsatillae and liquorice in water (75-90 DEG C) for 15-30 minutes; secondly, putting the fish and the river shrimps into the decocted mixture to be soaked for 24-36 hours after the decocted mixture is restored to room temperature; and finally, cutting the fish and the river shrimps into pieces with the size being convenient to eat for the tortoise.
