The streptomyces exfoliatus A1013Y provided by the invention can produce cyanine, can grow at 22-37 DEG C and secrete the cyanine out of cells; the fermentation liquid of which the colour value can reach 325 U/mL can be produced by fermenting in a shaking flask for 48 to 96 hours; moreover, after over 10 generations of continuous passage, the cyanine production capacity is not changed. The cyanine produced by the streptomyces exfoliatus A1013Y provided by the invention is a water-soluble cyanine; the cyanine is stable to heat, and the colour value does not change obviously after the heat is preserved for 2 hours at the temperature of 80 DEG C; the cyanine is stable to acid and alkali under dark conditions, and the colour valued does not change obviously after the cyanine is preserved for 1 day in dark; the cyanine has a certain cleaning effect on DPPH free radicals, ABTS+ free radicals and OH, so that the cyanine has certain antioxidant capacity.
