A kind of polymer material for preparing repeating units of chemical formula-O-Ph-O-Ph-CO-Ph-I and repeating units of chemical formula-O-Ph-Ph-O-Ph-CO-Ph-II Method: wherein Ph represents a phenylene group, the method comprising, in the presence of sodium carbonate and potassium carbonate, mixing at least one dihydroxybenzene compound and at least one dihydroxybenzene compound in a molar ratio of 65:35 to 95:5 A mixture of dihydroxybiphenyl compounds is polycondensed with at least one dihalogenated benzophenone wherein (i) the potassium carbonate has a mole % of at least 2.5, and/or (ii) the following relationship (referred to as "D50/mole% relation")
