| abstract | The invention provides a frequency tripler, which includes a dual-frequency in-phase signal generator, a dual-frequency quadrature signal generator and a mixer. The dual-frequency in-phase signal generator is used to receive at least the in-phase signal and the quadrature signal to generate a dual-frequency in-phase signal whose frequency is twice that of the in-phase signal or the quadrature signal; the dual-frequency quadrature signal generator is used for receiving at least said in-phase signal and said quadrature signal to generate a dual-frequency quadrature signal having a frequency twice that of said in-phase signal or said quadrature signal; and a mixer for receiving said in-phase signal , the quadrature signal, the dual-frequency in-phase signal, and the dual-frequency quadrature signal to generate an output signal whose frequency is three times that of the in-phase signal or the quadrature signal. The invention also provides a local oscillator signal generator. The invention improves the output signal condition of the frequency tripler and suppresses the fundamental harmonic/second harmonic stray. |
