Provided herein are methods and apparatus for analyzing particles in a sample, among other aspects. In some aspects, the particles can be analytes, cells, nucleic acids, or proteins, contacted with the label, dispensed into aliquots, detected by a fractionation device, and separated. The methods and devices provided herein can include microfluidic chips. In some aspects, the methods and devices can be used to quantify rare particles in a sample, such as cancer cells or other rare cells for disease diagnosis, prognosis, or therapy. |
