Hot melt adhesives include ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymers, hydrogenated styrene block copolymers, tacky resins and liquid plasticizers. Preferred ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymers have a vinyl acetate content between 8% and 28% by weight, and preferred hydrogenated styrene block copolymers are those having a styrene content of about 30% and are substantially free of diblock Diblock of styrene-ethylene-butylene-styrene. Hot melts provide excellent peel strength when used as construction adhesives in disposable nonwoven articles. It can also be formulated to exhibit very low penetration and blocking properties when used on low basis weight nonwovens. |
