The present invention relates to highly fluorescent and photostable chromophores for enhanced daylight harvesting efficiency. The present invention provides highly fluorescent materials comprising a single (n=0) or a series (n=1, 2, etc.) benzoheterocyclic ring system. The photostable highly luminescent chromophores can be used in a variety of applications, including wavelength conversion films. Wavelength converting films have the potential to significantly increase the efficiency of sunlight harvesting in photovoltaic or solar cell devices. |
