The present invention relates to binding molecules, such as human monoclonal antibodies, which bind to influenza viruses comprising HA of the H3 subtype, such as H3N2, and have broad neutralizing activity against such influenza viruses. The present invention provides nucleic acid molecules encoding the antibodies, sequences thereof, and compositions comprising the antibodies, as well as methods of identifying or producing the antibodies. The antibodies can be used to diagnose, prevent and/or treat influenza virus H3N2 infection. In preferred embodiments, the antibody provides cross-subtype protection whereby infection based on influenza subtypes H3, H7 and/or H10 is prevented and/or treated. |
