According to the method, by using methylal and formic acid as raw materials and adding a catalyst, methyl methoxyacetate is synthesized at low temperature and at low pressure. The method is characterized in that the catalyst has little corrosivity to reaction equipment and reaction condition is mild. By the method for obtaining methyl methoxyacetate, selectivity can reach 90% and above, and yield can reach 86% and above.
