abstract | The invention discloses application of arabidopsis mitochondria pyruvic acid transporter gene AtMPC1 in drought stress resistance of plants. An experiment proves that in stomatal movement, a mutant mpc1 shows a more sensitive characteristic for an abscisic acid (ABA) than a wild type (Col-0). In the same condition, a detached leaf losses lower water than the wild type (Col-0). In a plant draught experiment, the mpc1 shows higher drought resistance. Through proving, AtMPC1 participates in the regulation of the stomatal movement, further influences the response of the plant to drought stress, and is expected to provide support and help in breed improvement of crops and yield or quality enhancement of the crops, and has important significance in agricultural production. |
