titleOfInvention Chlorine dioxide generator using redox resin and adsorbed chlorite
abstract Chlorite absorbent particles are prepared by absorbing water-soluble chlorite or concentrated chlorite solutions into the absorbent particles. The absorbent may be silica gel particles or other particulate absorbent that can release an aqueous chlorite solution over time by simply contacting the chlorite-absorbent particles with water. Chloride salts are extracted from the chlorite-absorbent particles within a few minutes when rinsed with water. Chlorine dioxide generators in sleeve form include chlorite-absorbent particles and acid resin or redox resin. Water can be introduced into the cartridge inlet, through the chlorite-absorbent particles and the acid resin or redox resin in sequence, from which the chlorine dioxide solution is discharged.
