titleOfInvention Cell culture medium for enhancing hepatocyte function
abstract Cell culture compositions comprising LFM-A13 or structurally related compounds enhance overall liver function. For example, LFM-A13 has been shown to enhance the levels of various drug metabolizing enzymes including CYP enzymes and other liver enzymes. LFM-A13 has also been shown to promote the differentiation of stem cells into hepatocytes. LFM-A13 and structurally related compounds can be used in cell culture to enhance overall drug metabolism in hepatocytes for enhanced in vitro studies of drug metabolism effects on other candidate drug compounds.
