The medical device comprises a polymeric stent crimped to a catheter with an expansion balloon. The stent has a morphology created by biaxial (A-A, B-B) expanding tubes arranged to provide more balanced or less anisotropic axial and radial mechanical properties. The stent has improved mechanical properties suitable for use as a balloon-expandable stent for implantation in peripheral blood vessels of the body. |
