Abiraterone is an important intermediate of abiraterone acetate. Column chromatography for abiraterone purification in known abiraterone synthesis methods has the disadvantages of time consumption and high cost, and is a bottleneck in the large scale production for preparing abiraterone acetate, so searching of a simple and feasible abiraterone purifying method is necessary. The method comprises the following steps: reacting crude abiraterone with an acid to form a salt, re-crystallizing in an appropriate solvent, and adding an alkali to dissociate in order to obtain purified abiraterone with the HPLC purity being greater than 99.5% and the single impurity content being smaller than 0.1%. The method has the advantages of simple process, easy control and high crystallization yield, so the method has very strong industrial prospect.
