A beverage dispensing system (100) includes a container (110), an attachment mechanism (120), and a cartridge (150). The container may hold a mixing solution or liquid, such as water, which is used to mix with the contents of the cartridge. The linking mechanism is generally arranged within the container. The attachment mechanism may include an engagement assembly, a piercing portion (124), and a valve (126). The engagement assembly can generally receive the cartridge within the linkage mechanism. The piercing portion generally can pierce the cartridge, thereby releasing the contents of the cartridge into the container. The valve assembly is generally openable when the cartridge is engaged with the linkage mechanism. The cartridge typically engages a coupling mechanism to open the cartridge for dispensing into the container, thereby combining the contents of the cartridge with the liquid in the container to produce a drinkable beverage. |
