The polybutylene succinate 3D printing wire is prepared from the following raw materials in parts by weight: 100 parts of polybutylene succinate, 10-30 parts of a reinforcing agent, 1-5 parts of a compatilizer and 0.05-0.5 part of a free radical cross-linking agent; the preparation method comprises the steps of uniformly mixing the raw materials, wiredrawing, and three-stage cooling molding, wherein the temperature of cooling media used in three-stage cooling molding is decreased progressively; the cooling media are respectively a sodium bicarbonate aqueous solution in the first and second stages, and deionized water in the third stage; the concentration of the sodium bicarbonate aqueous solution used in the first stage is greater than that of the sodium bicarbonate aqueous solution used in the second stage. According to the polybutylene succinate 3D printing wire and the preparation method thereof, provided by the invention, the problems of low rigidity, low ageing resistance and great difficulties in wiredrawing and molding existing during the preparation of the 3D printing wire by using polybutylene succinate are solved, and the preparation method is simple and the industrial-scale production is facilitated.
