| abstract | The cloud system can create and support multiple network schemes for virtual machines in the cloud zone. A physical network including collections of network elements such as routers, gateways, firewalls, load balancers, and other network hardware can be created and updated within a zone. Tags or other techniques may be used to define and relate network scenarios to virtual machine networks, physical networks, and/or network elements. A cloud end user may request a specific network plan when creating a virtual machine, or may request to move an existing virtual machine from one network plan to another. The cloud system may use the requested networking scheme to identify virtual machine networks, physical networks, and/or network elements that correspond to the requested networking scheme. The cloud system may allocate new virtual machine networks and configure network elements within the associated physical network to provide network services to the virtual machines. |
