abstract An application of hawthorn flavones extract as a food additive belongs to the technical field of food additives. In the invention, the hawthorn flavones extract is prepared through a method comprising following steps: (1) performing reflux extraction with ethanol to hawthorns and recycling ethanol from an extract; (2) separating the extract through macroporous adsorption resin; (3) collecting a 30-95% ethanol elution liquid; (4) recycling the ethanol and concentrating and drying a fluid extract to obtain the hawthorn flavones extract; and (5) crushing, separating and packaging the hawthorn flavones extract to obtain a hawthorn flavones food additive. The hawthorn flavones food additive has an effect of reducing blood fat, is wide in application range and is suitable for industrial production.
