The present invention provides a method for producing a high-molecular-weight aromatic polycarbonate resin, which comprises making an aromatic polycarbonate prepolymer and an aliphatic diol represented by the following general formula (g2) Compounds are reacted in the presence of a transesterification catalyst to obtain a high molecular weight aromatic polycarbonate resin. In the formula, Ra and Rb independently represent a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, a linear or branched alkyl group, a cycloalkyl group, an aryl group, or an alkoxy group, or Ra and Rb may be combined to form a ring. R 1 to R 4 each independently represent a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom or an alkyl group. n represents an integer of 0-30. |
