titleOfInvention | inhaler |
abstract | An inhaler comprises a reservoir (2) of an inhalable composition. A valve element (11) is moved by a flexible membrane (14) and is biased to a position in which the valve element closes the flow path of the composition originating in the reservoir. A first flow path (16) is partially defined by one side of the membrane and a second air flow path (17) is partially defined by the opposite side of the membrane. Each flow path has an outlet (19f21) opening at an outlet end, and the second flow path has an inlet (20) upstream of the outlet end. These air flow paths (16, 17) are arranged such that suction at the outlet end causes the pressure in the first air flow path to decrease relative to the pressure in the second air flow path so that at A pressure differential is created across the diaphragm (14) which moves the valve element (11) against the biasing force to open the composition flow path. |
