abstract |
Process for preparing a polymer product comprising the steps of: i) feeding an aqueous mixture comprising a monoethylenically unsaturated monomer or a mixture of monoethylenically unsaturated monomers into a first reactor unit (2) through at least one inlet ; ii) partially polymerizing the monomer and transferring the polymerized monomer or monomer mixture from the inlet of the first reactor unit (2) to the outlet (3) to provide a partially polymerized product; iii) allowing the partially polymerized product to pass through the outlet (3) ) in which not more than 60% of the monomer or monomer mixture has been polymerized in the partial polymerisation product on leaving the outlet (3) of the first reactor unit (2) and transferred to another reactor unit ( 5), wherein another reactor unit (5) has an inlet and an outlet (6); iv) continue polymerization in another reactor unit (5) and transfer polymer product from another reactor unit (5) Outlet (6), characterized in that the first reactor unit (2) comprises a positive displacement pump. |
