The purpose of the present invention is to provide an organic compound as a material for an organic electroluminescence element exhibiting high efficiency and durability, the organic compound exhibiting excellent hole injection/transport performance, electron stopping power, stability as a thin film, and heat resistance. Another purpose of the present invention is to provide an organic electroluminescence element exhibiting high light emission efficiency and durability by using the aforementioned compound. A compound represented by general formula (1) and has an indeno acridan ring structure. An organic electroluminescence element having a pair of electrodes and at least one organic layer sandwiched therebetween, wherein the aforementioned compound is used as the constituent material for the organic layer. |
