The invention provides an olefin polymerization catalyst carrier and a preparation method thereof. The preparation method of the olefin polymerization catalyst carrier comprises the following steps: (1) mixing a carboxylic acid magnesium salt represented by the general formula of Mg(R4COO)2, a compound represented by the general formula of R1OH and an optional inert liquid medium, heating the obtained mixture, making the carboxylic acid magnesium salt dissolved, and thus obtaining a liquid mixture; and (2) emulsifying the liquid mixture obtained in the step (1), and carrying out a contact reaction of the emulsified product with an epoxy chloroethane compound having a structure represented by the formula (II). In X-ray diffraction spectra of the olefin polymerization catalyst carrier, at least one single-peak diffraction spectral line exists in a diffraction angle 2 theta range of 9 DEG-10 DEG, and at least one broad-peak diffraction spectral line exists in a diffraction angle 2 theta range of 10 DEG-20 DEG. The olefin polymerization catalyst carrier has relatively good particle morphology, and when used in polymerization of olefin, a catalyst prepared by the olefin polymerization catalyst carrier also has relatively high catalytic activity and basically has no special-shape material appearing. |
