abstract In order to enable various applications of non-Newtonian fluids, which are not hitherto possible as a result of the difficult handling ability of such fluids, a method for producing a non-Newtonian fluid is proposed, in which at least one starting material that can be cross-linked to form a non-Newtonian fluid and a solvent, in which a cross-linking agent for cross-linking the starting material is dissolved, are provided, wherein the solvent has an inhibiting effect on the cross-linking of the polymer. These components are mixed and the solvent is removed from the mixture, whereby the cross-linking agent is released in the mixture and the polymer is cross-linked by means of the cross-linking agent.
