abstract The invention belongs to the field of organic solar cell materials, and discloses a copolymer containing a thiophene-phenyl-thiophene (TPT) unit, a preparation method and applications thereof. The structure of the copolymer is shown in the description, the R1 and R2 represent a C1-C20 alkyl group, and the n is an integer in a range of 14 to 90. In the copolymer containing a TPT unit, the TPT based polymer has the advantages of high hole mobility, narrow energy gap, high absorption coefficient of sunlight, and wide absorption range, and is advantageously for being used in organic solar cells. Phenanthrene is a compound with a large-plane rigid structure, and has high thermal stability and fluorescent quantum yield. The copolymer containing a TPT unit can be used in a solar cell so as to improve the light conversion rate of the organic solar cell.
