abstract The invention discloses a tetradentate nitrogen oxygen ligand and application thereof. The structural formula of the ligand is as shown in a formula (II), wherein R is hydrogen or halogen. The ligand has good performance, can react with aluminum alkyl to generate an aluminum ligand. The preparation method is simple, the product yield is high, and the product property is stable. A methyl aluminum complex can be used for efficiently catalyzing ring-opening polymerization of lactide, the catalyst has high activity, the polymerization process is simple, and the stereochemical structure and molecular weight of the polymer can be regulated and controlled through controlling the polymerization conditions. The tetradentate nitrogen oxygen ligand can be used for meeting different requirements and has an excellent market prospect.
