A plant growth stimulant containing, as the main active ingredient, a compound that increases the amount of intracellular carbon dioxide, to which specific nutrients may optionally be added. The compounds include lower alcohols, such as methanol, ethanol, propanol, and butanol, and amino acids, such as glycine, glutamic acid, and aspartic acid. Exposure of plants to sunlight or other sufficient light after treatment with the composition enhances carbon dioxide fixation and compaction. The stimulating composition may contain 5%-50% by volume of methanol in water or 0.1%-10% by weight of amino acid, preferably sprayed on the leaves and shoots of the plants. |
