The present invention addresses the problem of providing a microbial strain which enables the reduction of the amount of a metabolite (M) converted from a compound (P) which is an intermediate metabolite and also enables the highly efficient accumulation of the compound (P) in a culture medium to which the metabolite (M) or an end product produced from the metabolite (M) is not added. The present invention provides a prokaryote having all of the properties mentioned in items (a) to (d) defined in the description, for the purpose of accumulating a compound (P), which is an intermediate metabolite, by controlling the expression amount of an enzyme (X) capable of converting the compound (P) into a metabolite (M), which is a compound essential for growth, in a biosynthesis pathway for producing the metabolite (M) from a carbon source. |
