titleOfInvention Enzymes useful for the production of peracids
abstract Provided herein are acetylxylan esterases and variants thereof having perhydrolytic activity for use in the production of peroxycarboxylic acids from carboxylic acid esters and a source of peroxygen. Also provided are multicomponent peracid generating systems comprising enzyme catalysts having perhydrolytic activity, and methods of producing peroxycarboxylic acids using the enzyme catalysts of the invention. Polypeptides having perhydrolytic activity can be used to produce peroxycarboxylic acids suitable for a variety of applications such as cleaning, disinfecting, sanitizing, bleaching, wood pulp processing, pulp processing, and personal care applications.
