abstract The invention discloses a carbazole compound as well as a preparation method and an application thereof. The carbazole compound is shown as formula (I), formula (II) and formula (III); a synthetic method of the carbazole compound comprises the steps of mixing compounds shown in formulas (IVa-IVc), a compound shown in formula (V) and an organic solvent, carrying out heating reflux and stirring reaction for 1-10h under the action of an alkali compound, drying the solvent in a spinning manner after reacting completely, performing column chromatography on silica gel to residues with an eluent solvent to obtain the carbazole compounds shown in the formula (I), the formula (II) or the formula (III); and the carbazole compound can be applied to a dye sensitized solar cell when being used as the dye sensitizer, and a new applicable substance can be added for screening of the dye sensitizer.
