titleOfInvention Depth pixels, three-dimensional image sensor and method of manipulating depth pixels
abstract A depth pixel, a three-dimensional image sensor, and a method of manipulating the depth pixel are disclosed. A depth pixel of a three-dimensional image sensor includes: a first photogate, which is turned on/off in response to a first light control signal; a first photodetection area, configured to receive light based on reflection from an object when the first photogate is turned on. Light generates first charges; the first transmission gate is turned on/off in response to a first transmission control signal; the first floating diffusion region is configured to accumulate the charge from the first photodetection region when the first transmission gate is turned on. the generated first charge; and a first compensation unit configured to generate a second charge different from the first charge based on an ambient light component included in the received light to supply the second charge to the first floating diffusion area.
