abstract The present disclosure includes biomarkers, methods, devices, reagents, systems and kits for assessing risk of cardiovascular (CV) events over a 5-year period. In one aspect, the present disclosure provides biomarkers that can be used alone or in various combinations to assess the risk of a CV event over a 5-year period. In another aspect, a method for assessing the risk of a CV event in an individual over a 5-year period is provided, wherein the method comprises detecting at least one biomarker value in a biological sample from the individual corresponding to a value selected from the group provided in Table 1. at least one biomarker of the biomarkers. In a further aspect, a method for assessing CV risk is provided, wherein the method comprises detecting at least one biomarker value in a biological sample from an individual corresponding to at least one biological marker selected from the biomarkers provided in Table 2 mark. In a further aspect, there is provided a method for assessing the risk of a CV event in an individual, typically within 5 years, wherein the method comprises detecting in a biological sample from the individual at least one biomarker value corresponding to a value selected from the group provided in Table 3. at least one biomarker of the biomarkers.
