abstract The present invention discloses a polyester composition comprising about 95% to about 99.99% by weight of polyester, about 0.01% to about 5% by weight of a sucrose ester of Formula 1 as a melt viscosity modifier, and optionally other additives present. The polyester compositions of the present invention have improved melt viscosity and impact strength. The compositions are suitable for use in the manufacture of molded articles, including automotive, electrical and electronic parts, and fiber products including filaments, fibres, yarns, fabrics and carpets.
