abstract The present invention provides compounds of formula I where G1 is oxygen; R1 is hydrogen; R2 is the group P L is a bond, methylene or ethylene; R3 is hydrogen; R4 is independently hydrogen, cyano, cyano-C 1 -C 8 alkyl, C 1 -C 8 alkyl, C 1 - C 8 haloalkyl, C 3 -C 8 cycloalkyl, C 3 -C 8 cycloalkyl in which one carbon atom is replaced by O, S, S (O) or SO 2 , or C 3 -C 8 cycloalkyl -C 1 -C 8 alkyl, C 3 -C 8 cycloalkyl-C 1 -C 8 alkyl in which one carbon atom in the cycloalkyl is replaced by O, S, S(O) or SO 2 , or C 3 -C 8 cycloalkyl-C 1 -C 8 haloalkyl, C 1 -C 8 hydroxyalkyl, C 1 -C 8 alkoxy-C 1 -C 8 alkyl, C 2 -C 8 alkene C 2 -C 8 haloalkenyl, C 2 -C 8 alkynyl, C 2 -C 8 haloalkynyl, phenyl, phenyl substituted by one to three R 6 , phenyl-C 1 -C 4 -Alkyl, phenyl-C 1 -C 4 alkyl wherein the phenyl moiety is substituted by one to three R 6 , 5-6 membered heteroaryl-C 1 -C 4 alkyl or heteroaryl moiety thereof 5-6 membered heteroaryl-C 1 -C 4 alkyl, or C 1 -C 4 alkyl-(C 1 -C 4 alkyl-ON=)C-CH 2 substituted by one to three R 6 -; R 6 is each independently halogen, cyano, nitro, C 1 -C 8 alkyl, C 1 -C 8 haloalkyl, C 1 -C 8 alkoxy, or C 1 -C 8 haloalkoxy ; Y 1 , Y 2 and Y 3 are independently CH or nitrogen; wherein not more than two of Y 1 , Y 2 and Y 3 are nitrogen and wherein neither Y 2 nor Y 3 are nitrogen; R 5 is hydrogen , halogen, cyano, nitro, NH 2 , C 1 -C 2 alkyl, C 1 -C 2 haloalkyl, C 3 -C 5 cycloalkyl, C 1 -C 2 halocycloalkyl, C 1 -C 2 alkoxy, C 1 -C 2 haloalkoxy; or Y 1 is CR 7 , and R 5 and R 7 together form a -CH=CH-CH=CH-bridge or a -N=CH-CH =CH-bridge; X 2 is CX 6 or nitrogen; X 1 , X 3 and X 6 are independently hydrogen, halogen or trihalomethyl, wherein at least two of X 1 , X 3 and X 6 are not hydrogen; X 4 is trifluoromethyl, difluoromethyl or chlorodifluoromethyl. or a salt thereof or an N-oxide. The present invention also provides intermediates useful for the preparation of compounds of formula I, and methods of using compounds of formula I to control insects, acarines, nematodes or molluscs.
